There seems to a recent theme in better understanding what the ancient message of Jesus is in his proclamation of the Kingdom of God. Brian McLaren’s books the Hidden Message of Jesus and recently Everything Must Change discusses it.
Today’s Christianity Today’s daily CT Direct letter has an article by Tom Wright on the patristic understanding of ‘going’ to heaven and our future resurrected bodies. He also explains the crucial mission of the church defined as God’s present body here on earth through his spirit empowered people in advancing the Kingdom.
